C Even or Odd

What is Even Numbers?

Any integer number that can be divided exactly by 2 is said to be even number.

For Example 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 are all even numbers.

What is Odd Number?

Odd numbers are right opposite to even numbers ie) any integer number that cannot be divided exactly by 2 is said to be odd number.

For Example 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 are all odd numbers.

Tricks

When you are encountering a larger number, you can easily differentiate whether the number is odd or even by checking whether its last digit is divisible by 2 or not.

Even or Odd C Program

Let us write a C program to check whether the number is even or odd.

biggest-number.c
#include <stdio.h>
int main()
{
int num;
printf("Enter the number : ");
scanf("\n%d ", &num);
printf("\n%s ", num % 2 == 0? "Even":"odd");
return 0;
}
Enter the number : 2
Even

Note:

In the above program, we get a number from the user and check whether the number returning 0 when it is divided by 0. If so, the number is said to be even number else the number is said to be odd number.

Did you know?

When any integer number is multiplied by any even number the resultant number will be even number.

When any integer number is multiplied by any odd number the resultant number will be either odd number or even number.
