Classification of Transformers

There are different types of transformers according to our needs.

Step up Transformer

In Step up transformer, the voltage in the secondary side (load side) will be greater than primary side (supply side). Step up transformers are mostly used in sending end side.

Step down Transformer

In Step down transformer, the voltage in the primary side (supply side) will be greater than secondary side (Load side). Step down transformers are mostly used in receiving end side and mostly in chargers.

Power Transformer

Power Transformers are used for stepping up the voltage greater than 33 kV. Mostly Power Transformers are used in sending end side.

33 KV 66 KV 110 KV 200 KV 400 KV

Distribution Transformer

Distribution transformers are ysed for the purpose for distribution of electrical energy at low voltage says less than 33 kv. Stepdown transformers used in receiving end side are all Distribution transformer.

230 V 440 V 3.3 KV 6.6 KV 11 KV
